She was a poet of some reknown and a short biography of her appeared in the Third Series of Modern Scottish Poets - Published 1881, in which Margaret claimed to have been 'orphaned at a very young age'.

Margaret married William Morrison at 16 Queens St Sth Leith in 1862. Winesses were Peter Morrison[Brother?] & Helen Alexander. Margaret & William were Great Grandparents to Gregg Morrison[Aust.rel=4th Cousin-once-removed to Alec Gregg[P539].
Note: Six children were born to this marriage but only 1)William b.9 Aug 1863 survived to maturity and later emigrated to Australia.
