I received notification from one Mark Pettigrew(CEng.Mech) b.1967 - via e-mail - for the descendants of John Pettigrew.(see P466 William). It is thought that John died in 1844 - i.e an interrment at Tarbolton in that year for a John Petticrew. Also John did not appear on the 1851 or 1861 census having appeared on the 1841 census.

John b. EST 1790 was possibly born in New Monkland(Airdrie) as yet to be confirmed. It is thought that John died in 1844 - i.e an interrment at Tarbolton in that year for a John Petticrew. Also John did not appear on the 1851 census having appeared on the 1841 census.

I was interested to read about the fiddle. My grandmother's brother John David Curle Petticrew (Mum's Uncle Dave) was a great fiddle player, completely self taught, so perhaps he inherited the talent!
